It includes a full blood count and tests for vitamin D, inflammation, and iron levels including ferritin and thyroid function tests.
Common complaints of excessive fatigue can be due to a variety of reasons, some of which include low levels of vitamin B12, vitamin D, and iron. An underactive thyroid gland can affect your metabolism, cause fatigue and lead to increased weight.
Blood Cells (1 Biomarker)
A full blood count can be used to check your overall health and can detect a wide range of issues such as infection, anaemia, and leukaemia. The full blood count cannot be run on a fingerprick sample but needs to be fully tested in the laboratory.
Iron testing (5 Biomarkers)
Iron testing is used to measure the amount of iron carried in the blood and stored in the body's tissues. Iron deficiency can be the cause of a wide range of symptoms such as fatigue, chest pains and shortness of breath. Low levels of iron can indicate anaemia, whereas high levels can indicate liver disease. Ferritin is a blood protein that is used to store iron and the ferritin test is used to diagnose anaemia and liver disease.
Thyroid (2 Biomarkers)
Thyroid disorders are common but often remain undiagnosed. If your thyroid isn't functioning properly it can cause tiredness, mood problems, and weight issues.Vitamins ( 1 Biomarker)
Vitamins are a group of substances that our bodies need for normal cell function, growth, and development. Vitamin deficiencies can be the cause of a wide range of common symptoms and conditions. Vitamin D tests identify vitamin D deficiency and monitor disease that interferes with fat absorption such as Crohn's disease.
Please note blood tests alone are not a substitute for seeing a doctor, particularly if you have any symptoms. Test results are not a clinical diagnosis and are for information purposes only.
Your test kit contains easy-to-follow instructions on how to take your own finger blood sample, together with an instructions leaflet, and a test request form. It is important that you read and follow the instructions in the instructions leaflet carefully and take care when taking any sample. We shall not be responsible for any injury caused by any failure to follow the instructions correctly. The home-testing kits use a simple finger-prick blood sample you can take yourself in the comfort of your own home. Please use the enclosed lancets and tube to collect the blood sample.
