Are you getting the right balance of healthy fats?

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are vital for maintaining heart health, supporting brain function, and regulating inflammation. However, an imbalance—particularly too much omega-6 relative to omega-3—can contribute to chronic inflammation and increase cardiovascular risk. This test checks your omega-3 and omega-6 levels, as well as your Omega-3 Index, to help you fine-tune your diet for improved overall health.

What does the test measure?

Omega Fatty Acids

ARA : EPA Ratio
Omega-3 essential fatty acids, such as EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), play a role in reducing inflammation, supporting brain development, and regulating blood pressure. Omega-6 fatty acids, including ARA (arachidonic acid), are generally considered to have a pro-inflammatory role, while omega-3 fatty acids like EPA are believed to be anti-inflammatory. This test provides insight into the balance between the two.

Omega-3 Index
The Omega-3 Index reflects the proportion of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids—EPA and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)—in relation to all fatty acids found in your blood, specifically within your red blood cell membranes. An Omega-3 Index above 8% is associated with optimal cardiovascular, cognitive, visual, and joint health.
